SHG’s key operating principle is our hands-on approach, and it is this owner involvement that yields a higher quality product built to stand the test of time. When developing property that had a prior use, there are always unexpected issues in both the approval, construction, and marketing phases of a project. Being around our job sites helps us apply informed solutions when these complicated situations arise.

In addition, we are unique in that we possess the in-house construction expertise to scope, bid, and hold construction sub-contracts, allowing us greater construction flexibility, more efficient scheduling, and lower cost construction.

 
Our long-standing relationships with many lending institutions – such as Bank of America, KeyBank, TriSail Capital Corporation, Valley National Bank, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo – provide us the flexibility to pursue a significant range of projects. In the last two years, we have closed construction loans with the above-mentioned lenders in excess of $300 million.
 

Places where one can live, shop, and/or work – that promote a sense of community – are those that have the highest long-term value appreciation. The S.Hekemian Group has a strong belief in urban and neighborhood models, and where applicable, we look to develop new neighborhoods, or enhance already existing town centers through our mixed-use projects.
